@Steven

I definitely use "Mark as Read," but I still just like to skim too many of them. My worth as a blogger is always measured by how many I leave unread at the end of the night.

@Connie

Thus far, I haven't been able to kick the feed reader. I like being able to collect all the blogs I read in one location--a searchable location too. Perhaps someday I can replace it with just reading blogs online or using Twitter to stay up-to-date. One can dream...

For now, my worth will have to be measured by how many "unreads" I have at the end of the day. :)

Just blogged about this very thing tonight -- breaking my RSS addiction. I've given up worrying that I might miss something important, because I'm bound to anyway. I'm using other means of discovering/reading blogs. And I changed from Google Reader to Netvibes. So far I really like it.

Lol. Flipped over to google reader at work today and 350 unread. Of course I have weather.com which puts out 7 everytime it updates. Typically though I have about 20 I follow and 5 of them make up 90% of the posts. When I get behind though the best tool of google reader is the "Mark all as read" button at the top of the page. I can always tell how productive I was at work that day by how many are left unread when I check google reader after rush hour traffic.
